Want more vitality and resilience?

The other night I reread a passage from a book on chakras and auras. I was struck by this particular sentence and have been thinking about it over the last few days: 

"We are more than a physical body: we are a complete energy system that unites all levels of being into an energetic totality. What we think and feel influences every cell in our body. It contracts or expands our energy field and stimulates our vitality and the amount of resilience we have at our disposal."

 

This idea of us -every individual human- being energy fields that reach beyond the edges of our bodies is a fantastic one that I have found to be true time and time again. To me, this explains things like instant attraction, empathy, compassion, and affection. 

Aligning your energy plays a massive role when it comes to creating success, inviting love, feeling good in your body, and living in a way that honors who you are. Your energy has to be aligned if you want to do great things not only once, but long term in a sustainable and pleasurable way. 

Many people work really hard to align their energy: they sweat in tree pose, they eat organic, they try to find pleasure in life and treat themselves to joyful things.

That's great already, BUT the thing many of us aren't such geniuses at, and what, in fact, matters so much more is this: your thoughts and your beliefs about yourself and the world around you, because those are the ones that create your feelings and as a result, brighten your light or dim it.

Your inner world needs the energetic alignment just as much as your external world if you want to create true vitality and resilience.

Here is my challenge for you: pay attention to your thoughts and beliefs about yourself and the world around you. Do you jump to conclusions? Do you take things personally by default? Do you feel confident in your own skin or do you beat yourself up all the time? 

Then, watch how these thoughts and beliefs make you feel. Do they trigger feelings of shame, sadness, anger, anxiety, doubt...? 

You've got to identify where your energy is getting stuck, where your qi cannot flow smoothly. 

Do this for 2-3 days so you can truly identify your pitfalls.

And then, I'd like for you to actively think beautiful, complimentary thoughts about yourself and the world around you. I want to challenge you to counteract each negative thought you have with one that is based on gratitude, beauty, generosity, and positivity.  

The more you do this the more this will become your new default. It may take some time but we are -yes, you!- completely capable to creating new patterns that serve us better.
