How To Create A Soulful Relationship
/It doesn’t matter if you are in a relationship, single, seeing someone, talking to someone, casually dating... most of us are craving depth and meaning in anything we do and in our romantic relationships in particular.
We desire soulfulness because it makes us feel ALIVE.
Earlier this week, I asked some of the women in my community what a “soulful relationship” means to them and here is what they said:
- Knowing that when he looks into my eyes and I into his that he actually sees me for who I am. He can see my truth and hold me accountable to that truth.
- Being in a soulful relationship means vulnerability is a sign of strength in the relationship, not weakness, and both people feel safe being vulnerable.
- It's not something that I could describe quantitatively, or analyze in any way that would translate to anyone else, as it's just a feeling of being tethered to each other in some way that is greater than the practical daily interactions… Sort of like the opposite of what we mean when we say someone, "looks good on paper.”
- Feeling supported to reach the depths of yourself.
- Being in conversation with the other person's mind and body. I think that applies to one's sexual relationship -- that it isn't just steamy (which one hopes it is!) but also a dialogue of comfort and safety. Knowing the other person's mental and physical reactions to music, art, higher callings.
As a newly married lady myself, I have obviously been thinking a ton about relationships, love, having a lasting spark, vulnerability and the role soul plays in all of it.
I know for myself, that if my relationship wasn’t soulful -if my LIFE wasn’t soulful- and if I didn't make a continuous effort to tune into treating myself soulfully, there is simply no way I could do what I do and be who I am for others or myself. There is no way I could experience real joy or deep connection, nor could I give generously and receive openly, which is key for a dynamic, engaged partnership.
And so here is what I have come to understand:
Soulfulness is not something that happens to you. It is something you decide on, dedicate yourself to, and actively create.
When it comes to forming soulful relationships and a soulful life at large, it is really about creating a soulful relationship with yourself first!
(If you have been with me for a while, this comes at no surprise;)).
In today’s short video (yes, I made a video because this topic is super dear to my heart and I wanted to say hello to you in a different way this week;)), I will walk you through 3 steps that you can take to create a more soulful relationship with yourself and as a result invite more soulfulness into your life and into your -current or future- relationship(s).
Click play below to watch the video.
To summarize, here are the 3 steps outlined for you:
Begin to see yourself with gentle eyes while giving yourself permission to feel ALL of your emotions. Wholeness is key for soulfulness to emerge.
Create the time and space for yourself to experience flow -meaning a state in which you are getting lost in something you love. When your energy is aligned, soul emerges.
Unleash and access your imagination to create an “alter-ego” (as I share in the video, mine is gypsy alter ego;)) that is a more soulful, fun and free version of yourself. Your imagination will create the freedom you need to embrace soulfulness.
If you want to dive deeper into these topics of soulfulness, purpose, joy, meaning and are ready to deepen your relationship and awareness of yourself to a whole new level, I’d love to invite you to join The Busy Girl’s 6-Week Plan To Balance And Fulfillment, my online coaching program for women for women everywhere.
In the program, I will strategically guide you through identifying beliefs that are holding you back and preventing you from seeing yourself through gentle eyes.
I will also show you how to create the space and time you need to get into a state of flow, and you will learn how to tune up the volume on your imagination so you can actually get clear on who you are and what you desire.
This course is a course in soulfulness.
